Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a series of passive, long-held floor poses, stretching the muscles and connective tissues. Guided by our resident Yoga teacher Helen, you will leave this session de-stressed and ready to face the day.

HIIT Pilates

A HIIT style work out based on the principles of Pilates. A fast paced, mat based, low impact class, driven in Tabata intervals.

Mums and Babies Group Class

This class aims to get you feeling active and energised whilst adapting to your body’s needs as a new parent. You can attend this class once you have had your 6 week health visitor/GP check up, if you had a C-section delivery we ask you wait 12 weeks.

Kettlebell Class

45 Minute Group Kettlebell Class. Build muscle and burn fat with the world’s most versatile piece of equipment –  all abilities are welcome.

Senior-Fit

A small and inclusive class for over 55s focusing on functional movement for health and longevity.

Olympic Weightlifting

Are you looking to develop more explosive power, strength, speed and athleticism? Our Olympic lifting program is built to do exactly that. Whether you’re a seasoned lifter or just starting out, our Olympic lifting program has everything you need to achieve your goals.

When you start at CrossFit Clifton, your fitness level will improve quickly, usually in the first 30 days. The key to see results is consistency and commitment over time so that’s why we recommend 3 classes per week as a start!

Yes! We provide guidance on eating right or sleeping well which can help maximize energy levels – getting YOU maximum results from your efforts.

Nope! Most of our members start just like you. We assess each new members fitness level. Then our workouts are “universally scaled”, with a different version of each days workout designed for every level. As you level up you can take on more challenging variants of the workout if you desire.

We are locally owned and purpose built to make an impact on the health and happiness in Bristol and the surrounding area.

You’re not just a number here, everyone knows your name. We’re a community of like-minded people that wants you to show up and supports each other on this journey to live better lives – with no judgement or criticism along the way!

If you’re a beginner and just starting out then 2-4 times per week will be enough to see results and allow you to adjust. You’ll be sore some days, so allow yourself recovery days between training sessions at first – over the course of the following months work up towards 5 days per week if you want to maximize!
We offer an exciting, challenging and varied programming which will keep it fun! The workouts are published in advance Some days are more strength focused where will focus on our lifts. Movements like barbell squats, kettlebell swings and occasionally some olympics lifts will be included.
Each class is led by qualified coaches. We always start together with a warm-up designed to activate the muscles being used in the workout. The coach will brief on the group on the workout, the movements, and the proper form. During the workout, the coach will be guiding and providing instruction. At the end of class, we will cool down together to accelerate recovery and reduce potential injury.

DANA WHATMORE

HIIT Pilates Teacher

Dana has always been a sporty person and became a dedicated yogi over a decade ago. Having trained with some of the best teachers in the business, Dana teaches invigorating Hatha yoga and mellow Yin. Equally enthusiastic and laidback, Dana will set you at ease and guide you safely in and out of postures to help you cultivate a stronger body / mind connection. She can also push you through challenging body weight or barbell and banded classes of no-impact HIIT using Pilates principles. Nothing makes her more happy then seeing people look after their personal fitness.

HELEN PRESS

Yin Yoga Teacher

Having trained as a dancer in London, Helen changed careers after sustaining a series of injuries. Following some time as a Purser for Emirates Airline, Helen trained in STOTT Pilates Matwork in 2008 in Toronto, Canada at the Toronto Corporate Training Centre, the main hub for all Merrithew training. After sustaining a broken foot, which she rehabbed with Pilates and Hot Yoga, Helen went on to train as a Hot 26 (Ghosh Yoga) instructor with a 9 week intense training course in Los Angeles, USA. Next stop was Goa for Kids and Family Yoga training, and then Yin Yoga training with Bernie Clarke in Vancouver Canada. Helen has taught in studios around the world, including; Dubai, London, Toronto, Abu Dhabi and now Bristol.

COLIN BURLISON

Coach

Colin discovered CrossFit in 2017 as a way to stay fit while in the US military. He then took his CrossFit Level-1 Trainer Course in 2018 and Level-2 in 2019. Over the past five years, he has developed a passion for coaching and helping people improve their quality of life through CrossFit.

Henry discovered CrossFit in 2015 after getting bored with the monotony of his regular gym.

The constantly varied methodology, community and competitive element has led to his continued enthusiasm for the sport.

In 2022 Henry took his CrossFit Level 1 Certification to begin his coaching career to help other athletes develop and improve their skills.

MICHELLE CLARKE

Coach

Michelle has always had health and fitness at heart, completing a HND in the Science and Management of Health & Fitness at college, also qualifying with the British Wheel of Yoga as a Yoga teacher. Michelle has taught a range of aerobics, step, spin and yoga.

It was thanks to signing up for Tough Mudder that Michelle found and fell in love with CrossFit in 2014. Which ignited her passion to want to coach again.

Michelle loves to see how CrossFit can improve the lives of people by making them stronger and fitter not only physically but also mentally. She also has a passion for mobility and accessory work to help people move better.

Jess has been in the fitness industry for 9 years and for the last 5 has been focused on CrossFit and Functional Fitness. She specialises in adapting CrossFit for pregnancy and postnatal rehabilitation. In her own training, Jess loves a gritty cardio workout and improving her gymnastic skills to show off at parties!

Coach

From a young age I’ve always been in love with sport and fitness. I’ve played a variety of different sports from martial arts, rugby to basketball and athletics 100m. My own training was always been based around sports performance, trying to make sure I could play sport at my very best.
This made me want to take my sports performance and fitness to a much higher level. This pushed me to take a deeper look into Strength and Conditioning which led me to pursuing a career in the fitness industry. In 2011 I found CrossFit and after doing my first WOD, (Cindy) and I was hooked.
So far, I have enjoyed the journey by consistently learning and practicing. I love and am 100% dedicated to helping people reach a fitness goal. There is no better feeling knowing you’ve had a positive impact on someone else’s life.

Gym Manager and Coach

Cathie discovered Functional Fitness and CrossFit in 2010 and was hooked. She quickly pursued a coaching career. With over 13 years’ experience, Cathies’ focus is on keeping fit, healthy and strong for longevity.
Cathie enjoys helping people to move well and achieve their fitness goals whether they are looking to lose body fat, get stronger, or find a more balanced lifestyle in terms of fitness or wellbeing. She holds a CrossFit Level 2 Qualification and understands how to get RESULTS!

CANCELLATION POLICY

We require 28 days notice to cancel a monthly membership. On receipt of your notice to cancel, a pro rata payment will be calculated and collected on your final payment date.
